The Standing Committee on Transport met at 9:02 a.m. this day, in Room 269 West Block, the chair , Joe Comuzzi, presiding.


Members of the Committee present: Larry Bagnell, John Cannis, Joe Comuzzi, Roger Gallaway, Jim Gouk, Ovid Jackson, Stan Keyes, Mario Laframboise, James Moore, Marcel Proulx, Yolande Thibeault and Lynne Yelich.


Acting Members present: Dick Proctor for Bev Desjarlais and Joseph Volpe for Pat O'Brien.


Other Members present: Joe Fontana.


In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages, Analyst.


Appearing: Hon. David Collenette, Minister of Transport.


Witnesses: Department of Transport: Louis Ranger, Deputy Minister; Jacques E. Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (A) 2003-2004: Votes 10a, 20a, 40a et 45a under Transport referred to the Committee on Tuesday, September 23, 2003.

The Hon. David Collenette made an opening statement and with Louis Ranger, André Morency, Ronald Sully and Karen Kinsley answered questions.


At 10:12 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:49 a.m., the sitting resumed.


John Cannis took the Chair.


At 11:03 Joe Comuzzi took the Chair.


At 12:11 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:28 p.m., the sitting resumed.


At 1:04 p.m., the Committee resumed sitting in camera.


On motion of Stan Keyes, it was agreed on division, — That the Chair report to the House, the Supplementary Estimates (A), under TRANSPORT with no amendment.


At 1:07 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
