Meeting No. 1

Wednesday, October 30, 2002

The Subcommittee on Private Members' Business of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 3:45 p.m. this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, Marcel Proulx, presiding.

Members of the Subcommittee present: Rick Borotsik, Yvon Godin, Michel Guimond, Marcel Proulx and Chuck Strahl.

Acting Member present: Claude Duplain for Tony Tirabassi.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, research officer.

Witnesses: From the House of Commons: Art Hanger, Ghislain Fournier, Pat Martin for Bill Blaikie, Gary Lunn, Monique Guay, Eugène Bellemare, John Herron, Bev Desjarlais, Pauline Picard, Gurmant Grewal, Guy St-Julien, Peter Stoffer, Stéphane Bergeron, Clifford Lincoln, Charles Caccia, Libby Davies, Réal Ménard, Richard Marceau, John Williams, John Bryden, Svend Robinson, Joe Clark, Bill Casey, Odina Desrochers for Bernard Bigras, John McKay, Peter Stoffer for Lorne Nystrom, Keith Martin, Scott Reid and Roy Cullen.

 

Pursuant to Standing Order 108 (3)(a)(iv), the Subcommittee considered the selection of votable items.

 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 5:30 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:45 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 8:15 p.m., the Subcommittee proceeded to sit “In Camera” to select votable items.

 

It was agreed -- That the Chair of the Subcommittee or his designated representative, present its recommendations to the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs.

 

At 9:15 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
