Meeting No. 9

Wednesday, June 4, 2003

The Subcommittee on International Trade, Trade Disputes and Investment of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 3:53 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Mac Harb, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Mark Eyking, Mac Harb.

Acting Members present: Raymond Simard for Pat O'Brien and John Duncan for Rick Casson.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Peter Berg and Michael Holden, Analysts.

Witnesses: From the Conference Board of Canada: Charles Barrett, Vice-President, Business Research; David MacDuff, Special Advisor / Senior Writer.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Examination in view of strengthening economic relations between Canada and Asia.

Charles Barrett made an opening statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.

At 4:33 o'clock p.m., the Subcommittee reverted to an in camera meeting.

The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of future business.

At 4:35 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
