Wednesday, March 19, 2003

The Subcommittee on International Trade, Trade Disputes and Investment of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 3:45 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Mac Harb, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Stéphane Bergeron, Mark Eyking, Mac Harb, Pat O'Brien, Bob Speller.

Acting Members present:  Murray Calder for Tony Valeri; John Duncan for Rick Casson.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Michael Holden, Analyst.

Witnesses: From Bombardier International: Robert Greenhill, President and Chief Operating Officer. From Grain Growers of Canada: Ken Bee, President; Cam Dahl, Executive Director. From the University of Toronto: Wendy Dobson, Professor of International Business, Director, Institute for International Business.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Examination in view of strengthening economic relations between Canada and Asia.

Robert Greenhill, Ken Bee and Wendy Dobson made opening statements and, with the other witness, answered questions.

At 5:25 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
