The Subcommittee on Children and Youth at Risk of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, John Godfrey, presiding.
Members of the Subcommittee present: John Godfrey and Anita Neville.
Acting Member present: Libby Davies for Wendy Lill.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Julie Cool, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre Inc.: Josie Hill, Executive Director; Diane Redsky, Director of Programs. From the Odawa Native Friendship Centre: Clifford T. Summers, Executive Director; Jaime Koebel, Board Member. From the Vancouver Native Health Society: Lou Demerais, Executive Director.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and its Order of Reference from the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities (See Minutes of Proceedings of Tuesday, November 5, 2002, Meeting No. 1), the Subcommittee resumed its study on aboriginal children from 0 to 12 years living in urban areas.
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
At 5:16 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
