MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 15

Wednesday, May 28, 2003

The Subcommittee on Children and Youth at Risk of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met in camera at 3:39 p.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, John Godfrey, presiding.

Members of the Subcommittee present: Sébastien Gagnon, John Godfrey, Anita Neville, Larry Spencer and Alan Tonks.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Julie Cool, Research Officer.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and its Order of Reference from the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities (See Minutes of Proceedings of Tuesday, November 5, 2002, Meeting No. 1), the Subcommittee resumed its study on aboriginal children from 0 to 12 years living in urban areas.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, -- That the draft report, as amended, be adopted as the First Report of the Subcommittee on Children and Youth at Risk of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities.

It was agreed, -- That the Chair be authorized to make such editorial and typographical changes as necessary without changing the substance of the Report.

It was agreed, -- That the Chair be authorized to present the Report to the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities provided that members of the Subcommittee have an opportunity to review and approve the wording of the amendments suggested at this meeting prior to the presentation of the report to the Standing Committee.

At 4:34 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
