The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met at 3:54 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, John Williams, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Colleen Beaumier, Odina Desrochers, John Finlay, Steve Mahoney, Philip Mayfield, Val Meredith, Shawn Murphy, Tony Tirabassi and John Williams.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Brian O'Neal and Jean Dupuis, Analysts.
Witnesses: From the Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Sheila Fraser, Auditor General of Canada; Johanne Gélinas, Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development; David Rattray, Assistant Auditor General; Mary Clennett, Comptroller.
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), and the Order of Reference dated Wednesday, February 26, 2003, the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2003-2004: Vote 20 under FINANCE (Office of the Auditor General).
Sheila Fraser and Johanne Gélins made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 5:27 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
