The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met at 11:09 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Reg Alcock, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Reg Alcock, Carolyn Bennett, Roy Cullen, Paul Forseth, Robert Lanctôt, Judy Sgro, Paul Szabo, Tony Tirabassi and Tony Valeri.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jack Stilborn, Analyst.
Witnesses: From the Department of Public Works and Government Services: Glen Bailey, Assistant Deputy Minister, Acquisition Program Branch. From the Department of Industry: David Fransen, Assistant Deputy Minister, Industry Sector. From the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade: Ken Sunquist, Director General, Trade Commissioner Service Overseas Programs and Services. From the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat: Michelle d'Auray, Chief Information Officer.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3), a study of electronic systems related to contracting in selected federal departments.
The witnesses each made opening statements and answered questions.
At 12:56 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
