The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met in camera at 3:42 p.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Hon. Andy Scott, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Chuck Cadman, Marlene Jennings, Robert Lanctôt, John Maloney, John McKay, L'hon. Lorne Nystrom, Pat O'Brien, Joe Peschisolido, Hon. Andy Scott, Kevin Sorenson.

Acting Members present: Larry Spencer for Garry Breitkreuz, Svend Robinson for Hon. Lorne Nystrom.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, senior analyst, Kristen Douglas, analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumes its study on marriage and the legal recognition of same-sex unions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of a draft report.

At 5:22 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
