The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met in camera at 9:06 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Hon. Andy Scott, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Garry Breitkreuz, Chuck Cadman, Hon. Hedy Fry, Marlene Jennings, Derek Lee, Paul Harold Macklin, John Maloney, Richard Marceau, John McKay, Pat O'Brien, Hon. Andy Scott, Vic Toews.

Acting Members present: Sue Barnes for Irwin Cotler, Réal Ménard for Robert Lanctôt, Loyola Hearn for Peter MacKay, Svend Robinson for Hon. Lorne Nystrom, Larry Spencer for Kevin Sorenson.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, senior analyst, Kristen Douglas, analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumes its study on marriage and the legal recognition of same-sex unions.

The Committee discussed a Draft Report.

At 10:20 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
