Meeting No. 5

Wednesday, November 27, 2002

The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Walt Lastewka, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Larry Bagnell, Nick Discepola, Jocelyne Girard-Bujold, Walt Lastewka, Serge Marcil, Brian Masse, Dan McTeague, Andy Savoy and Joseph Volpe.

Acting Member present: Ken Epp for James Rajotte.

Other Member present: John Bryden.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Geoffrey P. Kieley and Dan Shaw, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the Department of Industry: Howard R. Wilson, Ethics Counsellor; Pierre Legault, Senior General Counsel, Legal Services.

Pursuant to its Order of Reference of Friday, October 25, 2002, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-15, An Act to amend the Lobbyists Registration Act (See Minutes of Proceedings, Thursday, November 21, 2002, Meeting No. 3).

Howard Wilson made an opening statement and, with Pierre Legault, answered questions.

At 5:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
