The Standing Committee on Health met at 9:03 a.m. this day, in the Nova Scotia B&C Room, CASINO NOVA SCOTIA HOTEL, Halifax, Nova Scotia, the Chair, Bonnie Brown, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Gilbert Barrette, Carolyn Bennett, Bonnie Brown, Réal Ménard, Rob Merrifield and Svend Robinson.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Nancy Miller Chenier, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Centre for Emotions and Health, Dalhousie University: Allan Abbass, Director of Education, Department of Psychiatry. P.E.I. Health Coalition and MacKillop Centre for Social Justice: Mary Boyd, Chair, P.E.I. Health Coalition. University of New Brunswick, Faculty of Nursing : Margaret Dykeman, Associate Professor and Nurse Manager , Community Health Clinic. New Brunswick Pharmacists' Association: Peter Hogan, President. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on February 17, 2003, the Committee resumed its study of Prescription Drugs.
 

Allan Abbass, Margaret Dykeman and David Zitner made statements and answered questions.

 

At 10:20 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
