The Standing Committee on Health met in a televised session at 3:42 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Bonnie Brown, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Carolyn Bennett, Bonnie Brown, Jeannot Castonguay, James Lunney, Réal Ménard, Rob Merrifield, Hélène Scherrer, Carol Skelton, Greg Thompson.
Acting Members present: Derek Lee for Hedy Fry and Judy Wasylycia-Leis for Svend Robinson.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Nancy Miller Chenier and Sonya Norris, research officers.
Witnesses: From the Commission on the Future of Health Care in Canada: Roy Romanow, Former Commissioner; Gregory Marchildon, Former Executive Director, Professor and Canada Research Chair in Public Policy and Economic History, Faculty of Administration, University of Regina; Michel Amar, Former Director, Communications and Consultations.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced consideration of a study on health care access and accountability.
Roy Romanow made a statement, and with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 5:35 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
