The Standing Committee on Health met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Bonnie Brown, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Carolyn Bennett, Bonnie Brown, Jeannot Castonguay, Hon. Hedy Fry, James Lunney, Réal Ménard, Rob Merrifield, Svend Robinson and Yolande Thibeault.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Nancy Miller Chenier and Sonya Norris, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Canadian AIDS Society: Paul Lapierre, Executive Director. From the Canadian Aboriginal AIDS Network: Art Zoccole, Executive Director. From the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network: Ralf Jürgens, Executive Director. From the Canadian Association of HIV Researchers: Dr. Kenneth L. Rosenthal, President, and Professor, Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine, McMaster University. From the International AIDS Society: Dr. Mark Wainberg, President Elect, and Director, McGill AIDS Centre.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study of the Canadian Strategy on HIV/AIDS.
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
At 5:23 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
