The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 8:03 a.m. this day, in, in Montreal, in Le Centre Sheraton, Salons ABC, the Vice-Chair, Jerry Pickard presiding..
Members of the Committee present: Diane Ablonczy, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, Massimo Pacetti, Jerry Pickard.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: David Goetz, researcher officer.
Witnesses: From the Ukrainian Canadian Congress: Eugene
Czolij, National President. As Individual: Louis R. Béliveau.
Pursuant to its Order of Reference of Friday, November 8, 2002, the
Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-18, An Act respecting Canadian
citizenship (See Minutes of Proceedings, Thursday, November 21, 2002,
Meeting No. 6).
Eugene Czolij made a statement and answered questions.
At 9:04 a.m. the sitting was suspended.
At 9:11 a.m. the sitting resumed.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study of the National Identity Card (See Minutes of Proceedings, Thursday, February 6, 2003, Meeting No 17).
Louis R. Béliveau made a statement and answered questions.
At 10:18 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
