Wednesday, May 1st, 2002
The Sub-Committee on Children and Youth at Risk of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:38 p.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, John Godfrey, presiding.
Member(s) of the Sub-Committee present: John Godfrey, Monique Guay, Anita Neville, Larry Spencer, Tony Tirabassi and Alan Tonks.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Lyne Casavant, Research Officers.
Witness(es): From the Department of Health: Abu Nazir, Director of Health Funding Arrangements, First Nations and Inuit Health Branch. From the Walpole Island First Nation: Marcia Peters, Community Development Officer.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and its Order of Reference from the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities, the Sub-Committee resumed its study on the status of aboriginal children living on and off reserves and on federal programs available to them (See Minutes of Proceedings of March 01, 2001 – Meeting No.06).
Abu Nazir and Marcia Peters made statements and answered questions.
At 5:04 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
