Wednesday, April 17, 2002
The Sub-Committee on Children and Youth at Risk of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:37 p.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, John Godfrey, presiding.
Member(s) of the Sub-Committee present: John Godfrey, Monique Guay, Larry Spencer and Alan Tonks.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Lyne Casavant, Research Officer.
Witness(es): From the Canadian Institute of Health Research Aboriginal Research Center: Dr. Jeff Redding. From the National Aboriginal Health Organisation: Richard Jock, Executive Director; Valerie Galley, Special Projects Coordinator.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and its Order of Reference from the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities, the Sub-Committee resumed its study on the status of aboriginal children living on and off reserves and on federal programs available to them (See Minutes of Proceedings of March 01, 2001 – Meeting No.06).
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
At 4:51 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 4:52 p.m., the Committee proceeded to sit in camera.
The Committee proceeded to discuss its future business.
At 5:05 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
