The Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 11:06 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Judi Longfield, presiding.
Member(s) of the Committee present: Paul Crête, Libby Davies, Raymonde Folco, Judi Longfield, Gurbax Malhi, Larry Spencer, Diane St-Jacques and Alan Tonks.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Kevin Kerr and Bill Young, Research Officers.
Witness(es): From the Department of Human Resources Development: Syed Naseem, Chief Data Development and Research, Policy, Reporting, and Data Development Group. From the Statistics Canada: Doug Norris, Director General, Census and Demographic Statistics. From the As Individual: Adèle Furrie, Consultant.
Pursuant to its Order of Reference dated December 3rd, 2001 and to section 44 of the Employment Equity Act, the Committee resumed consideration of the statutory review of the Act (See minutes of Proceedings of December11, 2001 – Meeting No.44)
Doug Norris, Adèle Furrie and Syed Naseem made statements and answered questions.
At 12:37 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
