The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 9:14 a.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Wayne Easter, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Andy Burton, Rodger Cuzner, Wayne Easter, Bill Matthews, Jean-Yves Roy, Peter Stoffer.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the Department of Fisheries and Oceans: Micheline Leduc, Director, Harbour Operations and Engineering; Jim Morriscey, Chief, Small Craft Harbours, P.E.I. From the Parks Canada Agency: David Lipton, Field Unit Superintendent, Prince Edward Island. As Individual: Norman Peters; James Gallant.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee began its study of the management of the Little Harbour causeway issue (see Minutes of Proceedings of Thursday, January 31, 2002).
James Gallant, David Lipton and Jim Morriscey made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 10:54 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
