Thursday, May 31, 2001
The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met in a session using video conference facilities at 9:10 a.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Wayne Easter, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, John Cummins, Wayne Easter, Gerald Keddy, Dominic LeBlanc, Jean-Yves Roy, Peter Stoffer, Suzanne Tremblay, Tom Wappel.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, Research Officer.
Witness: From the Public Review Commission: Teresa MacNeil, Commissioner.
Pursuant to Section 52 of Oceans Act, the Committee continued with its review of the Act.
Teresa MacNeil made an opening statement and answered questions.
Suzanne Tremblay moved, - That the Committee take note of the report on the Gulf Region tabled by Wayne Easter and Dominic LeBlanc for the purpose of information.
After debate, the question being put on the motion, it was agreed to on division.
Suzanne Tremblay moved, That the Chair be authorized to approve and finalize the itinerary for the trip to Norway and Scotland.

At 10:31 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
