The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 7:44 a.m. this day, in the Admiral’s Ballroom of the Radisson Plaza Hotel Admiral, Toronto, Ontario, the Chair, Jean Augustine, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Jean Augustine, Stockwell Day.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: James Lee, Research Officer.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on North American Integration and Canada's Role in the Light of New Security Challenges and the study of the Agenda of the 2002 G8 Summit (See Minutes of Proceedings of Tuesday, October 16, 2001, Meeting No. 31).

Richard H. Chenoweth, Henriette Thompson, Linda Tripp, Jack Granatstein, John Kirton, Wayne Samuelson, Christopher R. Schenk, Derek Paul, Helmut Burkhardt, Grahame Russel, Nicaises Lola and Lina Bamfumu made statements and answered questions.

At 10:55 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:00 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Rhonda Kimberly-Young, Rod Albert and Carolyn Bassett made statements and answered questions.

At 11:33 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
