Meeting No. 5
Tuesday, March 20, 2001
The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met at 9:10 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Charles L. Caccia, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Bernard Bigras, Charles L. Caccia, Aileen Carroll, Joe Comartin, Paul Forseth, Gar Knutson, Karen Kraft Sloan, Rick Laliberte, Bob Mills, Karen Redman, Julian Reed, Hélène Scherrer.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Kristen Douglas, Monique Hébert and Tim Williams, Research Officers.
On motion of Paul Forseth, it was agreed, - That notwithstanding the Committee's previous motion on the payment of witnesses to come to Ottawa, the Committee pay for the expenses of the three (3) panelists from the Royal Society of Canada.
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of future business.
Gar Knutson moved, - That the Committee hold its hearings on C-5 in Ottawa.
After debate, the question being put on the motion, it was agreed to on the following show of hands:
