The Sub-Committee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:40 p.m. this day, in Room 306, West Block, the Chair, Carolyn Bennett, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Carolyn Bennett, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Wendy Lill.
Acting Members present: Paul Forseth for Maurice Vellacott, Odina Desrochers for Suzanne Tremblay.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Bill Young, Researcher.
Witnesses: From the Statistics Canada: Mike Sheridan, Assistant Chief Statistician, Social, Institutions and Labour Statistics; Doug Norris, Director General, Census and Demographic Statistics. From the Human Resources Development Canada: Jean-Pierre Voyer, Director General, Applied Research Branch, Strategic Policy.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c) the Sub-Committee proceeded to the consideration of the Health and Activities Limitation Survey.
Mike Sheridan and Doug Norris made opening statements and with Jean-Pierre Voyer, answered questions.
At 4:18 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
