ORDER OF REFERENCE

 

Extract from the Journals of the House of Commons of Tuesday, November 30, 1999

 

The House resumed consideration of the motion of Mr. Assadourian (Brampton Centre), seconded by Ms. Augustine (Etobicoke - Lakeshore), - That Bill C-224, An Act to establish by the beginning of the twenty-first century an exhibit in the Canadian Museum of Civilization to recognize the crimes against humanity as defined by the United Nations that have been perpetrated during the twentieth century, be now read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage.

 

The debate continued.

 

By unanimous consent, it was ordered, - That Bill C-224, An Act to establish by the beginning of the twenty-first century an exhibit in the Canadian Museum of Civilization to recognize the crimes against humanity as defined by the United Nations that have been perpetrated during the twentieth century, be withdrawn, the Order discharged and the subject-matter referred to the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage and that the Committee report to the House no later than June 15, 2000.
