The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 7:05 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Mauril Bélanger, Paul Bonwick, Cliff Breitkreuz, Sarmite Bulte, Pierre de Savoye, Rick Limoges, Clifford Lincoln, Eric Lowther, Inky Mark.
Acting Member present: Rick Laliberté for Wendy Lill.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: John Craig, Researcher.
Witnesses: From the As Individual: William A. Tilleman, Barrister & Solicitor. From the Town of Banff: Dennis Shuler, Mayor. From the Jasper Park Chamber of Commerce: Roy C. Everest, Vice-President. From the Sierra Legal Defence Fund - Toronto: Jerry DeMarco, Staff Lawyer.
Pursuant to its Order of Reference of Thursday, May 11, 2000, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-27, An Act respecting the national parks of Canada (See Minutes of Proceedings, Thursday, May 11, 2000 , Meeting No. 25).
Roy Everest, Dennis Shuler, Jerry DeMarco and William Tilleman made opening statements and answered questions.
At 9:10 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
