The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in a televised session at 11:43 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Mauril Bélanger, Sarmite Bulte, Pierre de Savoye, Wendy Lill, Clifford Lincoln, Inky Mark et Alex Shepherd.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Joseph Jackson, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the Chapters Inc.: Larry Stevenson, President and Chief Executive Officer. From the "Groupe Renaud-Bray": Carole Morency, Director, Communications. From the Pegasus Wholesale: Denis Zook, President and CEO; Nigel Berrisfford, Senior Vice-President of Purchasing. From the "Association des distributeurs exclusifs de livres en langue française": Georges Laberge, Director General.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), consideration of the Canadian Book Publishing Industry.
At 11:56 a.m., the Committee suspended business.
At 12:24 p.m., the Committee resumed business.
At 12:30 p.m., Mrs Bulte took the Chair.
The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.
At 1:24 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
