The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 9:38 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Bill Graham, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Jean Augustine, Colleen Beaumier, Bill Graham, Gurmant Grewal, Francine Lalonde, Diane Marleau, Denis Paradis, Bernard Patry, Darrel Stinson.

Acting Members present: Pauline Picard pour Maud Debien; Stéphan Tremblay pour Yves Rocheleau.

Associate Members present: Eleni Bakopanos, Dennis Gruending.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: James Lee and Gerald Schmitz, Research Officers.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108 (2), the Committee commenced its examination of Globalization and Canadian Foreign Policy Responses. (See Minutes of Proceedings, Tuesday, June 13, 2000, Meeting No. 55.)

Warren Allmand, Dorval Brunelle, Bruce Campbell, Claire Turenne Sjolander and Brenda Spotton Visano each made an opening statement and answered questions.

Roy Culpeper, Gauri Sreenivasan, Tom Courchene and Kimon Valaskakis each made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 12:11 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
