Wednesday, April 28, 1999

The Standing Committee on Transport met in camera at 3:36 p.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Ray Bonin, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Roy Bailey, Ray Bonin, John Cannis, Bill Casey, Roy Cullen, Stan Dromisky, Michel Guimond, Ovid Jackson, Stan Keyes, Lee Morrison, Lou Sekora.

Acting Members present: Peter Stoffer for Bev Desjarlais.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: John Christopher, Researcher.

Witnesses: From the Canadian Airlines International Ltd.: Stephen Markey, Senior Vice President, Corporate and Government Affairs; Scott Bradley, Director, Government Affairs; Roland Dorsay, Director, International and Regulatory Affairs and Erin Gorman, Manager, Government Affairs.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of a study on the Competitiveness of Canada's Air Transportation System.

Stephen Markey made an opening statement and, with Scott Bradley, Roland Dorsay and Erin Gorman, answered questions.

At 3:55 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:36 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

At 5:34 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
