The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in camera at 3:38 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, John Williams, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Serge Cardin, Mac Harb, John Finlay, Steve Mahoney, Philip Mayfield, Lynn Myers, Beth Phinney, and John Williams.
Acting Member(s) present: Ovid Jackson for Mark Assad; John McKay for Eugène Bellemare Bill Graham for Ivan Grose; and John Bryden for Jerry Pickard
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Jean Dupuis and Brian O'Neal, Research Officers.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(e), the Committee resumed consideration of Chapter 27 (Grants and Contributions: Selected Programs in Industry Canada and Department of Canadian Heritage) of the December 1998 Report of the Auditor General of Canada (See Minutes of Proceedings, dated Thursday, February 11, 1999, Meeting No. 53).
The Committee proceeded to examine a draft Report.
It was agreed, - That the draft Report, as amended, be adopted as the Twenty-Fourth Report of the Committee.
It was agreed, - That the Chair be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes to the Report as may be necessary without changing the substance of the Report
Ordered, - That the Report, as amended, be presented by the Chair of the Committee to the House of Commons.
At 3:55 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
