The Standing Committee on Health met in camera at 9:15 o'clock a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Joseph Volpe, presiding.
Member(s) of the Committee present: Bernard Bigras, Elinor Caplan, Aileen Carroll, Reed Elley, Grant Hill, Ovid Jackson, Robert D. Nault, Pauline Picard, Maurice Vellacott.
Acting Member(s) present: Lynn Myers for Maria Minna.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Nancy Miller Chenier and Gérald Lafrenière, Research Officers.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of natural health products. (See Minutes of Proceedings dated Thursday, November 20, 1997.)
The Committee resumed consideration of its draft report.
At 11:05 o'clock a.m. the sitting was suspended.
At 11:20 o'clock a.m. the sitting resumed.
The Committee proceeded to consider future business.
It was agreed, -- That the Members of the Committee forward to the Clerk of the Committee by 5 o'clock p.m. Friday, October 23, 1998 any requests received from individuals or groups wishing to appear before the Committee on C-42, An Act to amend the Tobacco Act.
At 11:55 o'clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
