THURSDAY, June 4, 1998
The Standing Committee on Health met in camera at 9:05 o’clock a.m., this day, in Room 705, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Beth Phinney, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Carolyn Bennett, Elinor Caplan, Aileen Carroll, Maurice Dumas, Reed Elley, Grant Hill, Lynn Myers, Pauline Picard, Rose-Marie Ur, Joseph Volpe, Judy Wasylycia-Leis.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Odette Madore, Nancy Miller-Chenier and Gérald Lafrenière, Research Officers.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of natural health products. (See Minutes of Proceedings dated Thursday, November 20, 1997.)
The Committee proceeded to give instructions to the Research staff on a draft report on natural health products.
It was agreed, – That the Second Report of the Sub-Committee on Agenda and Procedure of the Health Committee be concurred in.
It was agreed, – That the Committee invite Health Canada Officials on the Proposed Tobacco Regulations (SOR 97-297-03 and CG-I).
At 10:37 o’clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
