MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Monday, April 27

The Standing Committee on Finance met at 3:32 o’clock p.m., this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Maurizio Bevilacqua, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Maurizio Bevilacqua, Scott Brison, Dick Harris, David Iftody, Karen Redman and Paul Szabo.

Acting Members present: Yves Rocheleau for Yvan Loubier, Carmen Provenzano for Tony Valeri, Paul Crête for Gilles Perron.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Richard Domingue and Marion G. Wrobel, Research Officers.

Witnesses: Canadian Owners and Pilots Association: Kevin Psutka, Executive Vice-President. "Fédération des cégeps": Réginald Lavertu, Past President, member of the Administrative Counsel, Executive Director, Rosemont College; Jacques Fortin, Director, Student Affairs.

In accordance with the Order of Reference of the House of Commons of Tuesday, March 31, 1998, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-36, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 24, 1998. (See Minutes of Proceedings of Thursday, April 2, 1998, Meeting No. 67).
