MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Monday, October 20, 1997

The Standing Committee on Finance met at 1:06 o’clock p.m. this day in the Mackenzie Room, The Queen Elizabeth, Montreal, the Vice-Chair, Paddy Torsney presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Mark Assad, Roger Gallaway, Yvan Loubier, Gilles A. Perron, Gerry Ritz and Paddy Torsney.

Other Member present: Rahim Jaffer.

Associate Member present: Scott Brison.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch, Library of Parliament: Richard Domingue, Research Officer.

In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 83.1 the Committee resumed its Pre-Budget Consultation study. (See Minutes of Proceedings, Meeting No. 3, Wednesday, October 15, 1997).

At 1:07 o’clock p.m., the witnesses on Roundtable No. 3 made statements and answered questions.

At 2:25 o’clock p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 2:48 o’clock p.m., the sitting resumed.

The witnesses on Roundtable No. 4 made statements and answered questions.

At 4:18 o’clock p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:21 o’clock p.m., the sitting resumed.

Maurice Bourget made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:27 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned until 9:00 a.m. tomorrow.
