The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-food met at 9:06 a.m., this day, in Room
269, West Block, Joe McGuire, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Hélène Alarie, Paul Bonwick, Rick Borotsik, Murray Calder, Denis Coderre, John Harvard, Jake E. Hoeppner, Larry McCormick, Joe McGuire, Dick Proctor and Rose-Marie Ur.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch: Sonya Dakers, Research Coordinator and Frédéric Forge, Researcher.
Witnesses: From the Pest Management Regulatory Agency: Wayne Ormrod, Chief Registrar; Wendy Sexsmith, Director, Alternative Strategies and Regulatory Affairs and Elizabeth Javor, Manager, Business Line Improvement.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to review the mandate, management, efficiency and harmonization process of the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA).
Wendy Sexsmith made an opening statement and, with other witnesses, answered questions.
At 11:03 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
