The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-food met at 9:10 a.m., this day, in Room 371, West Block, Joe McGuire, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Leon Benoît, Paul Bonwick, Murray Calder, Jean-Guy Chrétien, Denis Coderre, John Harvard, Jake Hoeppner, Larry McCormick, Joe McGuire, Dick Proctor and Rose-Marie Ur.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch: Sonya Dakers, Research Coordinator.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to the consideration of the United States’ Challenge on Dairy Export Pricing Policy.

Witnesses: From the Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food: Mike Gifford, Acting Assistant Deputy Minister, Market and Industry Services Branch; Paul Martin, Acting Director, Multilateral Trade Policy Division, Market and Industry Services Branch. From the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade: John McNab, Director, Trade Remedies Division and Ian McLeod, Trade Law Division.

It was agreed, That the motion standing in the name of Jay Hill be considered at the next meeting of the Committee.

Mike Gifford and John McNab made opening statements and answered questions.

At 10:45 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
