Presenting Reports from Committees

Ms. Sgro (Humber River—Black Creek), from the Standing Committee on International Trade, presented the second report of the committee, "Canada–United States Relationship and its Impacts on the Electric Vehicle, and Softwood Lumber and Other Sectors". — Sessional Paper No. 8510-441-141.

Pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee requested that the government table a comprehensive response.

Introduction of Private Members' Bills

Government Orders

Pursuant to order made Tuesday, October 18, 2022, the order was read for the consideration at report stage of Bill C-31, An Act respecting cost of living relief measures related to dental care and rental housing, as reported by the Standing Committee on Health with an amendment.

Pursuant to Standing Order 76.1(5), the Speaker selected and grouped for debate the following motions:

Recommendation

Her Excellency the Governor General recommends to the House of Commons the appropriation of public revenue under the circumstances, in the manner and for the purposes set out in the following amendment to Bill C-31, “An Act respecting cost of living relief measures related to dental care and rental housing”.

That Bill C-31, in Clause 3, be amended

(a) by replacing line 17 on page 18 with the following:

vices, only 90% of the payment is to be taken into account

(b) replacing lines 23 to 29 on page 18 with the following:

purposes of paragraph (1)(g) is the total amount of rent paid in 2022 by the applicant.
