Introduction of Government Bills

Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Duclos (Minister of Families, Children and Social Development), seconded by Mr. Garneau (Minister of Transport), Bill C-87, An Act respecting the reduction of poverty, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.

Recommendation

Her Excellency the Governor General recommends to the House of Commons the appropriation of public revenue under the circumstances, in the manner and for the purposes set out in a measure entitled “An Act respecting the reduction of poverty”.

“the House decline to give second reading to Bill C-86, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 27, 2018 and other measures, since the Bill fails to address the fact that deficits are three times what the Prime Minister promised, that the Department of Finance admits that the budget will not be balanced until 2045, and that the average income tax bill for middle-class families has increased by $800, not including new carbon taxes and payroll tax hikes.”.

Statement by the Speaker

Clauses 535 to 625 regarding the Head of Compliance and Enforcement in the Canada Labour Code; and

All remaining provisions of the Bill.
