Pursuant to the orders of reference of Saturday, April 11, 2020, and Tuesday, May 26, 2020, the committee resumed its study of the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Manon Fortin and Ryan Persad made statements and answered questions.

At 11:59 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:03 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Jean-Philippe Gentès and Ernie Philip made statements and answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was moved, — That, as part of its study of the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the committee invite the Information Commissioner and other witnesses to appear before it on Friday, June 19, 2020.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:

YEAS: Ziad Aboultaif, Matthew Green, Majid Jowhari, Irek Kusmierczyk, Steven MacKinnon, Kelly McCauley, Brad Redekopp, Sherry Romanado, Julie Vignola, Patrick Weiler — 10;

NAYS: — 0.

It was moved, — That, as part of its study of the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the committee meet once in July and once in August, and that the timing of these meetings be at the Chair’s discretion and, if possible, during weeks when the House of Commons will be meeting.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:
