The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee conduct a study of the Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Business (PSAB) to ensure that it is meeting its intended objectives to maximize indigenous participation in our procurement system; that the Committee invite officials from Public Services and Procurement Canada, Treasury Board Secretariat, Indigenous Services or Crown Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs, the National Indigenous Organizations, and indigenous suppliers to the federal government who have participated under the Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Business; and that the study commence on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, for no less than two meetings.

It was agreed, — That the Committee conduct a study of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) within federal procurement, including the general procurement contracting rules, specific procurement opportunities devoted to SMEs, and the Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP); that the Committee invite officials from Public Services and Procurement Canada, Treasury Board Secretariat, International Trade, national organizations representing SMEs, and SME suppliers to the government; and that the study commence on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, for no less than four meetings.

At 11:38 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
