The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 11:01 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Joe Preston, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Brad Butt, David Christopherson, Kevin Lamoureux, Tom Lukiwski, Ted Opitz, Joe Preston, Scott Reid, Blake Richards and Craig Scott.

 

Acting Members present: Peter Julian for Alexandrine Latendresse.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Andre Barnes, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

Brad Butt moved, — That the Committee proceed to sit in camera.

 

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division: YEAS: Brad Butt, Tom Lukiwski, Ted Opitz, Scott Reid, Blake Richards — 5; NAYS: David Christopherson, Peter Julian, Craig Scott — 3.

 

At 11:03 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:04 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee request an extension to consider Motion M-431 (Election of committee Chairs) in order to give it the consideration it requires.

 

It was agreed, — That the analyst from the Library of Parliament prepare a draft report in relation to the Committee’s study of the Question of Privilege related to Elections Canada and the Member for Selkirk-Interlake.

 

It was agreed, — That the analyst from the Library of Parliament prepare a comprehensive briefing note for the Committee’s study of Motions M-431 (Election of committee Chairs) and M-489 (Election of the Speaker).

 

It was agreed, — That, in relation to its study of Motions M-431 (Election of committee Chairs) and M-489 (Election of the Speaker), the Clerk of the Committee invite witnesses to appear at the meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 17, 2014.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee devote one hour at its meeting of Thursday, June 12, 2014, for the consideration of the report submitted by the Clerk of the Committee regarding the leaking of certain documents on May 12, 2014.

 

At 11:55 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
