The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, Pierre-Luc Dusseault, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Charlie Angus, Charmaine Borg, Ray Boughen, Paul Calandra, Patricia Davidson, Pierre-Luc Dusseault, Larry Maguire, Tilly O'Neill Gordon, Scott Simms and Bob Zimmer.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Georges Etoka, Procedural Clerk. Library of Parliament: Maxime-Olivier Thibodeau, Analyst; Miguel Bernal-Castillero, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Crime Prevention Association of Toronto: Janet Sherbanowski, Executive Director. As an individual: Claudiu Popa, Chief Executive Officer, Informatica Corporation.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 7, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of the growing problem of identity theft and its economic impact.
 

Janet Sherbanowski, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, and Claudiu Popa, by teleconference from Orlando, Florida, made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:31 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:33 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That, following today's meeting and notwithstanding the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, February 16, 2015, the Committee schedule one (1) additional meeting for the purpose of hearing witnesses in relation to its study of the growing problem of identity theft and its economic impact.

 

At 4:48 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
