    Honourable members of the committee, I see a quorum. We can now proceed to the election of a chair. I am ready to receive motions to that effect.
    Mr. Dykstra.
    I think Madame Mendes has her hand up.
    Madame Mendes.
    I would like to propose Mr. Tilson for chair of the committee, if he accepts it.
    I has been moved by Madame Mendes that Mr. Tilson be elected as chair of the committee.
    Are there any further motions?
    (Motion agreed to)
    I declare David Tilson duly elected chair of the committee.
     Before inviting Mr. Tilson to take the chair, if the committee wishes, we will now proceed to the election of vice-chairs.
    Mrs. Wong.
    I nominate Mr. Bevilacqua.
    It has been moved by Mrs. Wong that Maurizio Bevilacqua be elected as first vice-chair of the committee.
    Are there any others?
    The committee has heard the terms of the motion. Is it the pleasure of the committee to adopt the motion?
    (Motion agreed to)
    The Clerk: Mr. Bevilacqua is duly elected first vice-chair of the committee.

    Our next item of business is the election of the second vice-chair of the committee, who must be a member of a party other than the official opposition.
    Go ahead, Mr. Asselin.
    I nominate Mr. Thierry St-Cyr for the position of second vice-chair.
    Mr. Asselin moves that Mr. Thierry St-Cyr be elected second vice-chair of the committee. The committee has heard the motion. Is it the pleasure of the committee to adopt the motion?
    (Motion agreed to)
