The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 9:05 a.m. this day, in the Salon 1 & 2, The Westin Bayshore Vancouver, Vancouver, British Columbia, the Chair, Gary Schellenberger, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Diane Bourgeois, Hon. Hedy Fry and Gary Schellenberger.

 

Acting Members present: Denise Savoie for Charlie Angus.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Marion Ménard, Analyst; Matthew Carnaghan, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Alliance for Arts and Culture: Andrew Wilhelm-Boyles, Executive Director. Friends of Canadian Broadcasting: Ian Morrison, Spokesperson; Anne Ironside. Music BC: Bob D'Eith, Executive Director. New Media BC: Lynda Brown, President; Adam Gooch, Manager, Program and Communications; Phillip Djwa, President, Agentic. Fédération des francophones de la Colombie-Britannique: Yseult Friolet, Executive Director; Christine Sotteau, Government Relations Coordinator. Le Canard Réincarné: Réjean Beaulieu, Principal. Pursuant to Standing Order108(2), the Committee resumed its full investigation of the role of a public broadcaster in the 21st century
 

Andrew Wilhelm-Boyles made a statement and answered questions.

 

Ian Morrison and Anne Ironside made statements and, answered questions.

 

At 10:20 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:30 a.m., the sitting resumed.

At 11:36 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
