The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 1:32 p.m. this day, in the Émilia/Percy Lequesne/Hector-Denis Rooms, Hôtel des Commandants, Gaspé, Québec, the Chair, Tom Wappel, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Reed Elley, Loyola Hearn, Jean-Yves Roy, Peter Stoffer, Tom Wappel, Bob Wood.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: François Côté, research officer.

Witnesses: From the "Regroupement des pêcheurs professionnels du Nord de la Gaspésie": André Boucher, Coordinator. From the "Groupe de commerce international Eng.-Hubert inc.": Georges-Henri Hubert, Vice-President and Co-owner. From the "Alliance des pêcheurs professionnels du Québec": O'Neil Cloutier, Director; Jean-François Martel, Vice President.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on Atlantic Fisheries Issues (See Minutes of Proceedings, Tuesday, May 6, 2003, Meeting No. 32).

André Boucher made a statement and answered questions.

Georges-Henri Hubert made a statement and answered questions.

At 2:55 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:07 p.m., the sitting resumed.

O’Neil Cloutier made a statement and, with Jean-François Martel, answered questions.

At 3:59 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
