The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met in a televised session at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Andy Scott, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Carole-Marie Allard, Bill Blaikie, Chuck Cadman, Irwin Cotler, Paul DeVillers, Ivan Grose, Peter MacKay, John Maloney, John McKay, Lynn Myers, Stephen Owen, Andy Scott, Kevin Sorenson, Pierrette Venne.
Acting Members present: Brian Fitzpatrick for Myron Thompson.

Pursuant to its Order of Reference of Thursday,
October 18, 2001, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-36, An Act to
amend the Criminal Code, the Official Secrets Act, the Canada Evidence Act, the
Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) Act and other Acts, and to enact measures
respecting the registration of charities in order to combat terrorism (See
Minutes of Proceedings, Thursday, October 18, 2001, Meeting No. 29).
Professor Martin Rudner, Professor Patrick Monahan, Professor Wesley Wark and A. Alan Borovoy each made a statement and answered questions.
At 5:36 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
