MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 27

Thursday, April 13, 2000

The Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met in camera at 11:29 a.m. this day, in Room 208, West Block, the Chair, Peter Adams, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Peter Adams, Bonnie Brown, Paul Crête, Jean Dubé, Raymonde Folco, John Godfrey, Judi Longfield, Larry McCormick, Rey Pagtakhan, Judy Sgro, Stéphan Tremblay.

Acting Member(s) present: Ovid Jackson for Andy Scott and Marcel Proulx for Bryon Wilfert.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Kevin Kerr, Julie Mackenzie and Bill Young, Research Officers.

The Committee proceeded to discuss its future business.

It was agreed, -- That the remainder of the meetings on the HRDC Grants and Contributions be organized around the list of themes circulated to the members.

It was agreed, -- That the Minister of Human Resources be invited to re-appear regarding the HRDC grants and contributions study.

It was agreed, -- That the Chair and the researchers develop an organizational plan around the suggested themes which includes dealing with the questions clearly and also that they deal with the witnesses with a biais towards the broader witnesses.

It was agreed, -- That Donald Savoie, Arthur Kroeger and Gordon Osbaldeston be called as witnesses May 4th in conformity with theme 2 - the role of Member of Parliament and civil servant in the decision making process.

It was agreed, -- That the notices of motions received be dealt with at the next meeting.

At 11:55 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
