Thursday, February 4, 1999
The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 9:15 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Rey Pagtakhan, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Leon Benoit, Raymonde Folco, Sophia Leung, Steve Mahoney, Grant McNally, Réal Ménard, Rey Pagtakhan and Andrew Telegdi.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Margaret Young, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the Department of Citizenship and Immigration: Jeff LeBane, Director General, International Region; Don Myatt, Director, Business Immigration, Selection Branch.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to consider selected aspects of the Business Immigration Program.
Jeff LeBane made a statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.
At 11:00 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
