Introduction of Government Bills

Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Gray (Leader of the Government in the House of Commons and Solicitor General of Canada) for Mr. Eggleton (President of the Treasury Board), seconded by Mr. Robichaud (Secretary of State (Agriculture and Agri-Food, Fisheries and Oceans)), Bill C-85, An Act to amend the Members of Parliament Retiring Allowances Act and to provide for the continuation of a certain provision, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.

Recommendation

    His Excellency the Governor General recommends to the House of Commons the appropriation of public revenue under the circumstances, in the manner and for the purposes set out in a measure entitled ``An Act to amend the Members of Parliament Retiring Allowances Act and to provide for the continuation of a certain provision''.

Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Goodale (Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food), seconded by Mr. Robichaud (Secretary of State (Agriculture and Agri-Food, Fisheries and Oceans)), Bill C-86, An Act to amend the Canadian Dairy Commission Act, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.

Motions

By unanimous consent, Mr. Milliken (Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), seconded by Mr. Kirkby (Prince Albert -- Churchill River), moved, -- That, notwithstanding any Standing Order, on Monday, May 8, 1995, the sitting of the House shall commence at 2:00 p.m.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.
