A meeting of the Working Group on the LTVP and the Centre Block Rehabilitation was held in camera on Friday, May 7, 2021, at 3:08 p.m., in Room 035-B, West Block.

In the Chair: Bruce Stanton, Deputy Speaker and Chair of Committees of the Whole

Members of the Working Group present: Carol Hughes, Hon. Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Louis Plamondon, Martin Shields and Ryan Turnbull

Also present: Michel Patrice, Deputy Clerk, Administration; Stéphan Aubé, Chief Information Officer; Susan Kulba, Director General and Chief Architect, Real Property; Rob Wright, Assistant Deputy Minister, Science and Parliamentary Infrastructure Branch, Public Services and Procurement Canada; Jennifer Garrett, Director General, Centre Block Program, Public Services and Procurement Canada; Anya Lisowski, Director General, Strategic Engagement and Change Management Sector, Public Services and Procurement Canada

BLOCK 2 ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN COMPETITION

The Chair provided an update on the architectural design competition for Block 2.

DECORATIVE TARPS

The Working Group discussed the use of decorative tarps to cover Centre Block during the rehabilitation project.

It was agreed, – That, notwithstanding the recommendation of March 12, 2021, the Working Group recommend to the Board of Internal Economy that printed tarps (“trompe l’oeil”) be used to cover all the façades of Centre Block.

HOARDING AND INTERPRETIVE PANELS

Anya Lisowski presented a proposal for hoarding and interpretive panels and, with Rob Wright, Jennifer Garrett and Michel Patrice, answered questions.

It was agreed, – That the Working Group recommend to the Board of Internal Economy that it approve the proposal, with an on-site full-scale mock-up of the panels for further review as required.

PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT SURVEY

The Working Group discussed the proposed Public Services and Procurement Canada public engagement survey.

It was agreed, – That the Working Group recommend to the Board of Internal Economy that it approve the proposed public engagement survey.

At 4:11 p.m., the meeting was adjourned.
