A meeting of the Board of Internal Economy of the House of Commons was held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 11:15 a.m., in Room 340-S, Centre Block.

In the Chair: The Honourable Andrew Scheer, Speaker of the House of Commons

Present: The Honourables Peter Van Loan, John Duncan and Dominic LeBlanc; Mrs. Stella Ambler; Mr. Philip Toone; Mr. Peter Julian

Acting Secretary to the Board: Marc Bosc, Acting Clerk of the House of Commons

Also Present: Pierre Parent, Chief Human Resources Officer; Philippe Dufresne, Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel; Mark Watters, Chief Financial Officer; Robin Kells, Secretariat

Minutes of Previous Meeting

The minutes of the meeting of June 9, 2015 were adopted and approved for tabling.

Collective agreement

The Board ratified the Collective Agreement reached with the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC) for the Procedural Clerks and Analysis and Reference bargaining unit.

Per Diem Expenses

The Board considered the House Administration’s analysis of a Member’s per diem claims and requested that the House Administration return with a recommended course of action at its next meeting.

Residency and Per Diem Policies

The Board discussed the policies related to residency and per diem expenses claimed by Members and agreed to continue its discussion at its next meeting.
